Accession & Proclamation of King Charles III

Queen Elizabeth II      1926 – 2022

Since the sad news of the death of the Queen was given on Thursday evening, the parish has prepared ways that parishioners can show their respect and take part in the public proclamation of the Accession to the throne of the new King.

Bells– a single bell was tolled at noon at the Church on Friday.

Parish website – the homepage has been changed to include a picture of the Queen, and a message of sympathy

Condolence Book for the parish – this will be held at St Symphorian’s Church, Veryan and the Church will be open daily to allow people to sign the book, spend quiet reflection time in remembrance.

Flowers –  Flowers can be laid at the War Memorial in Veryan – it is requested that cellophane, paper and plastic coverings are removed before leaving.       Flowers will be removed the day after the funeral

Saturday 10th Sept – Nationally, the Accession Council will

meet and the Proclamation will come

from St. James’s Palace

Sunday 11th Sept –   Proclamation Day –

Noon – National Proclamation  – from

Edinburgh, Cardiff,  Hillsborough

1:00pm     Cornwall Council

6.30 pm    Veryan Parish Council  –  at                           

                                  The War Memorial, Veryan- all welcome
